Man in the Mirror PROJECT: Fear and Tolerance

Fear is the root cause of all suffering in the world.  We have been fed fear for centuries by our statesmen, our countries, and our religions.  What fear tells us is that we are not powerful enough to make good out of our situations.  Fear instills anxiety, stress, disorders and the inability to sleep.  Fear can make you struggle with everyday issues, legal matters, worry, self doubt and pity.  Fear is not your friend.  Fear is your enemy.

How do we conquer fear?  First we must put fear in it's rightful place.  Fear does not deserve a front seat.  Fear must be thrown out the window and run over quickly before it seeps into the floor beneath us.  Our foundations must not be built on fear, but on trust and wisdom.  Fear blocks our trust in ourselves and knows no boundaries when it comes to self preservation.  Fear will tear your insides apart if you let it flourish.  Do not regard fear as a punishment, an injustice or something we must tolerate.  Fear deserves no such dignity.  Fear is the result of being less then, intimidated, under minded, and squashed by an opponent.  Fear opens you up for discord, unclean thought, and rapid heartbeat that under minds your ability to think and act clearly.

We conquer fear by knowing where it comes from.  What set it into motion?  Who allowed fear to enter and who wished to instill it?  Fear will ruin your life if you let it.  You can stop fear and stare it straight in the eye by telling fear to go back to it's rightful owner.  The bullying boss, the intimidating co-worker, the abusive husband, the terrorists, or the gang in your neighborhood.  The truth is most of those who want to instill fear, hold it themselves.  They are acting out in fear, afraid of loosing control.  Their tactic to gain back control is to cause fear in you so you can be controlled and now their outside world is seen as controllable once again by them.

It can be an abusive parent, telling you what and who you are, a drunken husband, a bad boss, any of these people who abuse power are after one thing: control.  Even when it comes to ourselves we may fear scarcity, not enough money, enough resources.  Yet when we do, we too seek control of our outside worlds. We must learn to allow our fear to leave us. The weapon you must use is your own mind.  Your mind has the power to stop fear from intruding into your life.  Fear is only felt when the mind accepts it and you allow it to enter the feeling body.  It is only a feeling of trepidation, not an actual harmful substance.  You must treat fear like you treat a distasteful apple; refuse to eat it.  Only when you realize this will you come to know fear for what it is; nothing.
