Chiron -The Point of Wounding
By Maria Shaw Lawson
Because
of the upcoming astrological aspects (see Astro New below) which are very
wonderful for healing on a deep level, I wanted to write an article on Chiron;
the wounded healer.
Chiron
in our natal charts shows us where we have healing powers as the result of our
own deep spiritual wounds. We may find that we over-compensate in the areas of
life that Chiron shows up in our charts. Chiron is known as the wounded
healer...you are a wounded healer who first must face issues of low self-esteem,
worth and learn to rise above these painful issues. Because the wound goes deep,
it is often painful to accept and address BUT if we know where the wound is, we
can work hard to overcome it. The Chiron healing powers are extremely potent and
quite possibly, the biggest breakthroughs we can have in our lives, once we
achieve that level of healing.
Chiron
reveals wounds to the psyche often resulting from traumas that we have
encountered in the early stages of our life. Sometimes, the wound is so old that
it hardly seems it is bothering us but it remains central to the psychological
themes that are played out in our lives. An event or situation from childhood
that wounded us can affect our relationships, self-esteem, success and even our
health as an adult. Chiron in our chart points to the area we are having the
trouble because of the trauma. Once we gain this knowledge then we can work to
fix it and heal the wound. An event that happens in adulthood may be felt more
painful or exaggerated because it triggers that old issue. The issue usually
relates to your spiritual growth.
So,
each of us has deep within, our own perceptions of circumstances, issues or
people that we feel were hurtful to us. These hurts need to be fixed, healed,
rectified or released.
Whether
or not you are aware of it on a conscious level, this old wound can be a drive
or detriment. The inner wound may stop you from spiritually growing at times but
each wound also brings a special present...a chance to heal the wound and learn
to forgive and love yourself and others unconditionally.
By
finding Chiron in your chart, you can begin to recognize where you need to heal
on many levels; physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. The sign your Chiron
is in and the house it is in can give you a deeper understanding of what to heal
and then how to find the peace your soul is seeking. Every so often, when there
is an aspect to your Chiron, you will go through a hurt, sad or depressed
phrase. It may not last long but a situation or person can trigger it when you
least expect it.
Chiron
transits help us to raise our consciousness; they bring a wound to the surface
so we can heal it. Knowledge is power so understanding where the wound is, is
the first step to healing.
Many
people carry feelings of guilt and shame and their Chiron wound will point to
this. Sometimes it has to with family (4th house issues) or sometimes a karmic
relationship.
If
you would like to know exactly where Chiron is in your chart and when the next
transit coming you can look to astrology.
Then
when that time arrives, take notice of how you are feeling, the circumstances
and people in your life at that time that trigger those feelings.
Then
decide how you want to release and what you want to do with those feelings. Once
you work out your Chiron, blockages for success can be released easier and
financial security, good relationships and come in.
For
instance one client has her Chiron in the 5th house of her chart, which rules
loves affairs. As a young girl (teenager) she had her first love and feel deeply
in love with this young man. As with most any teenage relationship, it didn't
last but she was deeply wounded. Her heart broke after the break up and she felt
abandoned, worthless and miserable. She cried for two years. That first painful
experience colored her world and whenever there was a Chiron transit she would
both meet someone and have the same experience or she would turn her thoughts to
past loves with regret and sadness. Once she was able to understand what was
happening and when, we was able to do some Chiron/energy release work with a
local practitioner and she removed the "wound" that she carried from
childhood.
Another
client I have has Chiron in the fourth house of his chart which rules home and
family. He had a difficult early upbringing and was left by his parents to his
grandparents. He was then given back to his mother and then she sent him back
with the grandparents who were overburdened. His Chiron wound stirred up
feelings of self worth, that no one loved him and that he was a burden to
people. He felt neglected abandoned and more. So he pushed many loving
relationships away from him in his adult years. He seemed to shut down
emotionally and commitment phobic. Tired of being this way, he turned to
astrology to find out what was going on his life and why he was the way he was.
Working with his Chiron, we began the process of healing the wound and now
enjoys a happy relationship. However at times when there is a transit that he
doesn't feel emotionally secure but he catches himself from going down a dark
road.
If
you don't know where your Chiron is you can order a one question reading if you
have not scheduled a full reading with me on Chiron.
You
can ask "Where is Chiron in my chart and what is my wound I need to heal?
You
can order a second person's reading on Chiron for half the price but you MUST
know the birth times for this order or the information will not be correct.
Astro News

The reason for my Chiron article
above is because we have many astrological aspects for the month of December
that help us do some major healing work. Many of us will be rethinking our
commitments we have made with our career, our families our relationships and
even financially. Venus turns Retrograde on December 21 and turns direct on
January 31 2014.
Venus is only Retrograde 40 days
every two years. This is an opportunity to think hard about our emotional life;
our wounds from the past and how they have created our current circumstances.
The Grand Cross involving Pluto, Uranus, Jupiter, and Mars forces us to make
physical changes in personal lives. This aspects' effect last for the next six
months so we are starting a long, process but real healing is possible but
requires change, so be extra patient with yourself and with others. The New Moon
on December 2 is great for new beginnings and spiritual awareness being its in
the sign of Sagittarius. Uranus also Trines the Sun and Moon. The universe will
send you messages that show ways to move away from your problems and the best
way is to reach for a higher spiritual solution. Decisions made then will be
permanent.
Our
lives may be in an uproar but if we recognize and work with the wounded healer
within, the results will be amazing as we move into the New Year. This is one of
the biggest times for healing old stuff we have been carrying around if we are
willing to go there. You will feel so much better when you address stuff once
and for all. Work with your spiritual mentors, astrologers, counselors, etc at
this time if you need more assistance. That's why these light workers are in
your life. Their mission is to help you achieve the peace you seek. Ask them to
help. Give them permission to give you the tools or advice you need to heal the
wounds! Have a blessed week, Maria
