If you've ever lost a job you might know how it feels to be pulled from the identity that you defined yourself with. For many of us our jobs are what has defined us for many years. Thinking we can only be that which we do. The reality, however, is that although you may have had many jobs through the years, your true identity has still remained in tact silently waiting for it's reveal.
It's only a blow to our ego self when a job loss happens. The ego is puffed up and says "look at me" or "this is what I do". But our true identity, the one that lies silently within, waits for the ego to recede then silently makes it's appearance in our darkest hour. This identity is the one that can carry you through the worst of storms.
Have you ever noticed when things got really bad in your life, you got quiet? You seem to naturally go within, almost instinctively searching for clues on what to do next. This identity, the seer within you, is the higher self and that which will most often be the voice of reason, of faith, and of love for the self. Looking within in times of stress and fear are natural. But looking within when we seemingly don't have to is magical.
Seeking your true identity is like a game of hide and seek. You know it's some where in there, but the key is in finding it. Who am I? Where will I go? What is my purpose? These are the questions we ask and in time if we look hard enough and long enough, all of them will be answered.
Tonight before you go to bed ask yourself the question "Who am I?" and "What is my destiny?" When you close your eyes picture a field and in the field ask for your higher self to come meet you. When he or she does, try and listen to what they have to say.
