Wrongful Conviction for Murder in New York

A man wrongfully convicted of murder spent 20 years in jail.  Recently the court agreed to dismiss his case due to an unfair trial.  He asked the courts to not dismiss the case, but to keep it open in order to allow the family to get clarity on their sons murder and clear his name.

There have been over 1800 wrongful convictions in the US that have been overturned.  Sometimes our courts don't bother to look at all the evidence, nor take the time to interview all the witnesses.
Similar to the Conrad Murray trial, often times they swoop to a quick conviction in lieu of the truth.
