When we look at ourselves in the mirror, we see our flaws, our failures our patterns of abuse with ourselves, our histories, and our misfortunes. What we don't see is our progress. What we've learned. How far we have come and where our perceived mistakes, flaws, failures and patterns of abuse with ourselves have taken us.
There is saying about ascension. When you reach for perfection, back into the divine essence of your being, it is said that you can not skip even one rung on the ladder in the reach for that perfection. Everything you do, what you think and how you respond is an opportunity for growth. Most of us keep hidden the ugly parts of us we don't want to see, but it doesn't mean that those parts still aren't there. What you should be asking yourself is "Is this the true me?". Your answer then should be a definitive "no."
You were created as perfection. A divine being in your own right. How then can you feel you are less than, or anything but that perfection? All you need to do is allow yourself to come back to that light and release those things you thought you had to hold onto that make you think you should be retaining to be you. You can't force yourself to be you, but you can allow you to be you. Allowing yourself to come to your divine nature is different than trying to recreate yourself. Why try and recreate that which is already perfected?
So how do we allow ourselves to come to this place of perfection once again? Part of it is by reflection. Look back on your life. In every thought of your past, your perceived failures and triumphs ask yourself what was learned. There is a lesson in every horrible thing and in every good thing. After you've reflected on the past, reflect on how those lessons have changed your thinking, how they have changed your life. For most of us it is our experiences that mold and shape our beliefs and how we live our lives.
Now sit in silence and close your eyes. Listen deep inside, and for each major experience in your life, remember it in your minds eye. When you do, pay attention to your body. Does your body tense up? If it does there is something about the situation or experience you need to release. Running away from it, or not wanting to deal with it won't make it go away. So sit with it. Keep asking yourselves questions: What was I to learn from this situation? Was it to have better boundaries? Expect more for yourself? Maybe surround yourself with better people? Keep asking the questions, and as you do be mindful of your breath. Inhaling deeply, letting the breath move you through the emotion of the experience and exhaling fully, allowing the experience to leave your body.
When you feel you've had enough time, visualize a ball of light above your head. Allow the rays of light to stream around and within you, flushing to the earth any residual energies that may be hidden and stored.

What we don't see is our progress. you took the words right out of my mouth. its so true people tend look at themselves in a neggative view and dont either dont appreciate or realize what they have. everytime i look in the mirror i see someone who i dont want to be. and i wish i could change
Hi Star,
List those things you want to change. Then list those things you are thankful for. Then go back and ask yourself if the things you want to change are because of the inner you feeling you will be a better you, or is it outside pressures that make you feel as if you have to change.
You may be surprised. It might sound simple, but it helps if you find something about yourself that you like. . . your smile, your wit, anything. Add that to a few other things about your life and practice gratitude for those things every day. i.e. Thank you for the abundance in my life, financially, emotionally, my health . . while you do, feel it within you. You'll then be drawing those things more into your life when you do. Keeping yourself supported by the universe. Believe it and believe in you!
thanks deb for the words of wisdome i apprecaite that.
